Abstract
THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO A METHOD FOR STARTING THE ENGINE OF A VEHICLE, IN WHICH METHOD HYDRAULIC ENERGY-ACCUMULATING MEANS ARE COUPLED TO THE SAID ENGINE; WHILE THE SAID ENGINE IS OPERATING, ENERGY IS ACCUMULATED BY COMPRESSING A HYDRAULIC FLUID; THEN, WHEN THE ENGINE IS SWITCHED OFF, THE ACCUMULATED ENERGY IS RESTORED IN ORDER TO TURN OVER AND START THE SAID ENGINE; CHARACTERIZED IN THAT AT THE MOMENT THE SAID ENGINE STARTS, THE RESTORING OF THE ACCUMULATED ENERGY IS COMMANDED BY OPERATING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL.
