Abstract

THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO AN APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING BROWN SUGAR, IN WHICH GRANULAR BROWN SUGAR OF A LIGHT GOLDEN COLOR CAN BE PRODUCED IN AN EASIER MANNER BY CARRYING OUT A DRYING PROCESS IN ADDITION TO A PROCESS OF MIXING WHITE SUGAR WITH MOLASSES IN A MANNER SIMILAR TO A SOFT SUGAR-PRODUCING METHOD. ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION, BROWN SUGAR CAN BE PRODUCED IN AN AMOUNT OF 1/4 OR MORE OF THE TOTAL PRODUCT ION OF SUGAR USING GENERAL SUGAR REFINEMENT, AND THE COLOR VALUE AND NON-SUGAR CONTENT OF THE BROWN SUGAR CAN BE CONTROLLED BY THE SELECTIVE USE OF MOLASSES BYPRODUCTS, SUCH AS MOLASSES FROM AFFINATION, B-MOLASSES, C-MOLASSES AND HIGH-COLOR-VALUE MOLASSES.
