Abstract

THE PRESENT INVENTION PROVIDES AN ELECTROMAGNETIC STEEL SHEET HAVING ITS SURFACE COATED WHICH IS BONDED BY HEATING AND PRESSURIZATION, WHEREIN THE ELECTROMAGNETIC STEEL SHEET, EVEN AT THIN COATING PERMITS BONDING OVER THE WHOLE SURFACE OF STEEL SHEET AND REDUCES A BONDING STRENGTH LOWERING. ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION, AN ELECTROMAGNETIC STEEL SHEET HAVING ITS SURFACE COATED FOR BONDING IS CHARACTERIZED IN THAT IT HAS AN INSULATING FILM EXHIBITING BONDING CAPABILITY UPON APPLICATION OF HEAT AND PRESSURE, AND THE INSULATING FILM BEING A MIXTURE OF AN EPOXY RESIN OF 80°C TO 150°C GLASS TRANSITION TEMPERATURE (TG) OR MODIFIED EPOXY RESIN, AND AN EPOXY RESIN HARDENING AGENT AND A PARTICULATE POLYMER OF A 0.01 TO 0.5 µM PARTICLE DIAMETER DISPERSED THEREIN. THE ELECTROMAGNETIC STEEL SHEET HAVING ITS SURFACE COATED FOR BONDING IS FURTHER CHARACTERIZED IN THAT THE TG OF THE PARTICULATE POLYMER IS IN THE RANGE OF 10 TO 80 °C, AND STILL FURTHER IN THAT THE PARTICULATE POLYMER IS AN ACRYLIC-BASED POLYMER.
