A FLUID BEARING INCLUDES A PAIR OF INNER MEMBERS (20,30) FIXED ON A ROTATING SHAFT (10) TO FACE EACH OTHER, AN OUTER MEMBER (50) HAVING A LUBRICATING SURFACE CORRESPONDING TO THAT OF SAID INNER MEMBERS SO AS TO ROTATABLY SUPPORT SAID INNER MEMBERS, AND A SPACER (70) INSTALLED IN SAID SHAFT BETWEEN SAID INNER MEMBERS FOR MAINTAINING A CLEARANCE BETWEEN SAID INNER MEMBERS AND SAID OUTER MEMBER AND SPACED APART FROM SAID OUTER MEMBER BY A PREDETERMINED GAP FOR ACTING AS A JOURNAL BEARING. THE FLUID BEARING IS SMALL BUT HAS AN EXCELLENT RADIAL INWARD LOAD.FIGURE 2
