Abstract

An assembly (1) simplifies the assembly, disassembly and handling of a roller (6) bearing (2). The assembly is principally used in conjunction with roller bearings with curved races and roller profiles, where the curvature is much greater than the maximum gap between the center axis and the race surfaces. One or more of the bearing ring (4,5) radial surfaces (8) has a depression (7). The retaining washer (10) has a tab (9) projecting into the recess creating an interlocking action. The ring end-faces are covered by a plate link (11) and is held in place by a screw (12).
