Abstract

A PROCESS AND A DEVICE FOR COPYING MAGNETIC TAPES. WITHIN CONVENTIONAL COPYING PROCESSES SIGNALS THAT ARE RECORDED ADDITIONALLY TO THE ESSENTIAL INFORMATION ITSELF ARE NOT COPIED, E.G.CONTROL SIGNALS FOR SYNCHRONISATION OF HEAD SWTCHING IMPULSES. IN A VARIATION OF THESE SIGNALS, HOWEVER, ADDITIONAL INFORMATION MAY BE CODED, WHICH THEREFORE NEITHER IS COPIED. INFORMATION THAT IS CONTAINED WITHIN A CONTROL TRACK AND IS DETECTED BY A DEVICE IN PLAY MODE IS TRANSFERRED VIA A TRANSFERRING PATH TO A RECORDING DEVICE WHERE IT IS RE-RECORDED IN A DIGITALLY CODED SHAPE ONTO THE CONTROL TRACK AND THERE WITHIN A RESPECTIVE TIME WINDOW. APPLICATION IN COPYING MAGNETIC TAPES WHICH HAVE ADDRESS OR INDEX MARKS CONTAINED IN THEIR CONTROL TRACKS.(FIG 4)
