Abstract

A BAYONET BULB HOLDER INCLUDES A HOUSING 10 PROVIDED WITH THE USUAL BAYONET SLOTS 11. WITHIN THE HOUSING IS A SHUTTER ELEMENT 40 ASSOCIATED WITH ONE OF THE SLOTS AND WHICH IS MOVED ANGULARLY AS THE PINS OF THE BULB ARE MOVED ALONG THE CIRCUMFERENTIAL PORTION 13 OF THE SLOT. THE SHUTTER ELEMENT CONTROLS THE MOVEMENT OF A TRANSVERSE BAR 28 WHICH CARRIES ELECTRICAL CONTACTS. IN ORDER TO REMOVE A BULB THE TRANSVERSE BAR MUST BE MOVED TO AN INOPERATIVE POSITION IN WHICH THE BULB ENGAGING CONTACTS OF THE HOLDER ARE ISOLATED AND THE TRANSVERSE BAR CANNOT BE MOVED TO THE OPERATIVE POSITION UNTIL A BULB IS INSERTED IN THE HOLDER.
