Abstract

A COMPOUND WATER CYCLONE IN WHICH THE COMPOUND CONE SECTION OF THE BOTTOM OUTLET IS MADE FROM MATERIAL TREATED SO THAT THERE IS AN ABSENCE OF SURFACE DEFECTS WHICH WOULD INTERFERE WITH THE FLOW OF THE HIGH DENSITY PARTICLES SUCH AS GOLD WITH A SIZE BELOW 70 MICRONS. THE JUNCTIONS BETWEEN THE SECTIONS OF THE COMPOUND CONE ARE SMOOTH CURVES TO AVOID ABRUPT CHANGES OF ANGLE. THE RECOVERY OF FINE MATERIAL IN THE BELOW 44 MICRONS RANGE IS INCREASED.(FIG. 1)
