Abstract
THE INVENTION CONCERNS THE CONTINUOUS MEASURING OF DENSITY IN FUNCTION OF DEPTH OF MARINE SILT BY MEANS OF AN AUTONOMOUS TOWED DENSIMETER SYSTEM.THE SYSTEM COMPRISES A HYDRODYNAMIC TOW-FISH (1) COMPRISING A NUCLEAR TRANSMISSION PROBE (19, 21), A DEPTH SENSOR (22) AND A TRANSPONDER (50), A SUITABLE CABLE (2), A COMPUTER CONTROLLED WINCH (3), MEANS FOR LOCALIZING THE TUG-BOAT (4) AND A COMPUTER (55) ON BOARD THE TUG-BOAT (4).THIS SYSTEM ALLOWS THE DETERMINATION OF NAUTICAL DEPTH IN HARBOURS IN A QUICK, PRECISE AND AUTONOMOUS MANNER.
