Abstract

Las modalidades de la presente invencion proveen un metodo y aparato para asignar unidades de abonado moviles mejoradas a una red de telecomunicaciones. En una primera modalidad, una red (100) identifica (801) una marca de clase de una unidad movil de abonado (117) y determina (083) si la estacion movil tiene una capacidad de desempeno mejorada, por ejemplo una capacidad de cancelacion de interferencia. Si la terminal movil (117) esta mejorada, se asigna (807) a una ranura de tiempo de carga fraccional alta. Si no, se asigna una ranura de tiempo de carga fraccional baja (805). Los procedimientos de conmutacion se controlan en una manera similar, en la cual la capacidad de la terminal movil se determina antes de asignar ranuras de tiempo durante la conmutacion.
