Abstract
Un proceso para la preparacion de un polimero bajo condiciones de temperatura predeterminadas comprende conducir la polimerizacion dentro de una camara de reaccion cerrada, configurada tal que toda o la mayor parte de una superficie interior tiene capacidad de intercambio de calor. Las dimensiones de la camara son tales que la mezcla de polimerizacion hace contacto con al superficie de intercambio de calor efectiva lo suficiente para asegurar que la temperatura por toda la mezcla de la polimerizacion no varie mas de unos pocos grados de una temperatura deseada. En una modalidad, la camara esta formada de dos placas de intercambio de calor paralelas, adyacentes (12; 15), en donde al menos una placa tiene un reborde periferico (24) el cual, en contacto con la placa opuesta, forma la camara cerrada. Placas multiples se pueden arreglar para formar camaras multiples, y la temperatura de polimerizacion de cada camara, asi como la mezcla de polimerizacion residente, pueden ser individualmente predeterminadas. Este proceso y aparato son particularmente utiles para la preparacion de polimeros utilizados en agentes de reduccion de arrastre para aplicaciones de tuberias de transportacion de hidrocarburos, asi como otros polimeros que se benefician de los perfiles de temperatura reducidos y/o ajustados a las especificaciones durante la produccion.
