Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a reductores de la friccion para su uso en composiciones de aceite lubricante que comprenden ciertos grupos de compuestos aromaticos, esteres, mezclas angostas de aceites basicos, y/o polimeros amorfos tales como polimeros de olefina amorfos. Estas composiciones pueden proporcionar reducciones sustanciales en cuanto al coeficiente de friccion y beneficios de mejora de la economia de combustible cuando se mezclan a aceites lubricantes sin efectos negativos tales como la inestabilidad, viscosidades excesivamente elevadas y depositos. En un aspecto de la invencion, esteres de pentaeritritol y opcionalmente eteres de triol se agregan a composiciones de aceite lubricante para proporcionar una friccion reducida y una economia mejorada de combustible. En un segundo aspecto de la invencion, se obtienen resultados similares mediante la adicion de hidrocarbilos aromaticos a una composicion de aceite lubricante que contiene uno o varios de aceites basicos de Grupos II y III. En un tercer aspecto, la invencion se refiere a una composicion de aceite lubricante que comprende un copolimero de olefina amorfo y uno o varios aceites basicos de Grupos II y III. En una modalidad, el tercer aspecto incluye tambien uno o varios hidrocarbilos aromaticos y esteres de poliol como parte de la composicion. En un cuarto aspecto, concentraciones moderadas de hidrocarbilos aromaticos se emplean en la composicion de aceite lubricante que comprende aceites basicos parafinico y preferentemente un agente de dispersion sin ceniza de poliisobutenil succinimida boratada.
