Abstract
Un metodo y un aparato para el control de la congestion en un sistema de comunicacion inalambrico. Se asignan valores de velocidad de datos objetivo individuales a terminales de acceso individuales. Las velocidades de datos individuales de las terminales de acceso son ajustadas para lograr los valores de velocidad de datos objetivo individuales correspondientes (208, 218). Si no son logrados los valores objetivos dentro de un numero predeterminado de iteraciones, las velocidades de datos individuales son ajustadas. En una modalidad, el estado de un bit de congestion indica el tipo de ajuste, como un incremento o disminucion (204), donde el estado del bit de congestion es determinado comparando un parametro de congestion con un umbral predeterminado. Una modalidad implementa un umbral de circuito exterior que tiene un margen con respecto al umbral metrico de congestion deseado. De acuerdo a una modalidad, un indicador de congestion incluye bits multiples, donde al menos in bit le da instrucciones a la estacion movil para usar valores objetivo o tambien para ajustar sin considerar un valor objetivo (210, 216).
