Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a varios metodos y aparatos para maximizar la eficiencia de la desalinizacion basada en hidratos u otra purificacion de agua en instalaciones en aguas abiertas o parcialmente abiertas. En una modalidad, se toma agua desde una profundidad en donde la temperatura ambiente sea lo mas fria posible, en donde dicha profundidad es diferente a la profundidad maxima de la columna de fraccionamiento de hidratos utilizada en el proceso. El agua tomada de preferencia es llevada hacia presiones reducidas para que se exdisuelvan los gases diferentes a los gasees formadores de hidrato que esten disueltos en el agua por ser tratada. Tambien se describe el uso de fuentes previamente presurizadas de sustancias formadoras de hidrato, incluyendo depositos en aguas profundas o suministros de gas natural liquido transportados por mar. Se describe una instalacion de columnas de fraccionamiento multiples desprendibles, al igual que una instalacion hibrida que tiene una seccion de formacion de hidrato submarina y una seccion de disociacion e intercambio de calor basada en tierra.
