Abstract

Un auto-tensor de correa de sincronizacion incluye un mecanismo accionado por la inversion de la direccion del movimiento de la correa de sincronizacion. En aplicaciones automotrices la inversion de la direccion de correa de sincronizacion ocurre solo raramente bajo circunstancias accidentales. Estas inversiones pueden provocar suficiente holgura de la correa para que una correa con dientes salte dientes de engranaje, de esta manera cambiando la sincronizacion del arbol de levas del motor. Cuatro mecanismos relacionados se describen, cada uno de los cuales, ante accionamiento por inversion de la correa, provoca que el eje de rotacion de la polea auto-tensora se mueva en una direccion que aprieta la correa durante movimiento inverso de la correa. De esta manera, la correa permanece tensa apretada a las poleas dentadas evitando salto de la correa hasta que la correa regresa a un adecuado movimiento de la correa hacia adelante.
