Abstract

La invencion comprende un proceso completamente continuo para conformar una emulsion de fase interna alta (HIPE) con una fase continua polimerizable en espuma seca, que comprende 1) proporcionar una emulsion de fase interna alta (HIPE) que comprende (a) al menos 70 por ciento en volumen de una fase eterna que comprende uno o mas monomeros polimerizables; (b) un agente tensioactivo en una cantidad eficaz para producir una emulsion de fase interna alta; y (c) una fase interna; 2) depositar la emulsion en un substrato de soporte movil inferior; 3) nivelar la emulsion a un espesor deseado encima del substrato de soporte; 4) polimerizar los monomeros probando la emulsion y el substrato de soporte movil inferior a traves de una zona de calentamiento durante un tiempo suficiente para polimerizar al menos 75% del monomero en la HIPE al final de la zona de calentamiento; y 5) secar la HIPE polimerizada en una zona de secado durante un tiempo suficiente para producir una espuma que ha eliminado mas del 50% de la fase interna.
