Abstract

Se proveen metodos y dispositivos para determinar la presencia y/o concentracion de al menos un analito en una muestra de baja transmisividad; en los metodos en cuestion, un haz hacia adelante y un haz hacia atras se producen por medio de o al introducirlos en un interferometro desde al menos una fuente de radiacion infrarroja; el haz hacia adelante se pasa en la muestra y posteriormente se recolecta para producir un haz de muestra mientras que el haz hacia atras se pasa a una referencia y posteriormente se recolecta para proveer un haz de referencia; los haces de muestra y referencia se vuelven a combinar ya sea opticamente en un haz nulo que se detecta en un solo detector o electronicamente anulado despues de la deteccion en dos detectores por separado; la presencia, y con frecuencia la cantidad, de al menos un analito en la muestra entonces se deriva del haz nulo detectado; tambien se proveen dispositivos para practicar los metodos anteriores; los metodos en cuestion y dispositivos son adecuados para uso en una variedad de diferentes aplicaciones, incluyendo la deteccion de la presencia, y cantidad, de uno o mas analitos en la sangre en una muestra fisiologica, tal como sangre, tejido o derivados de los mismos.
