Abstract

Se a conocer un sistema (1), de bajo costo, para suministrar agua de beber, el cual incluye un contenedor (5) del agua de carga, con un filtro (20) de ceramica sencillo, que cubre una salida (19) del contenedor (5) del agua de carga. El filtro preferido (20) es generalmente de configuracion cilindrica, con un barreno (la), que se extiende parcialmente a traves del mismo, en una configuracion denominada comunmente como un filtro de "vela de ceramica", en los paises en desarrollo. Bajo la fuerza de gravedad, el agua de carga se filtra a traves de la ceramica (20) abajo a un contenedor (10) de almacenamiento. El agua filtrada es irradiado con energia ultravioleta (UV) o conforme fluye o despues de la recoleccion en el contenedor (10) de almacenamiento. En una modalidad, el agua filtra es recogida temporalmente en un tanque (210) de retencion intermedio, donde puede ser irradiada constantemente o en lotes, y se libera periodicamente al contenedor inferior (10). La filtracion a traves de la ceramica suministra agua clara, con un coeficiente de extincion bajo de la luz UV, para una desinfeccion UV mas eficiente. Adicionalmente, la filtracion de carga por gravedad a traves de la ceramica (20) suministra un regimen lento del flujo del agua y una dosis UV consecuentemente alta, para una intensidad de energia UV dada.
