Abstract
Un proceso de nanofiltracion para obtener sacarosa usa un jarabe de alimentacion, tal como la melaza, que comprende sacarosa y no menos de aproximadamente 2% en peso de azucares invertidos (en una base de solidos secos). La nanofiltracion produce un permeado y un producto retenido. El permeado de nanofiltracion comprendera azucares invertidos que han pasado de la alimentacion a traves de la membrana de nanofiltracion, y preferentemente tambien comprendera cenizas a partir de la alimentacion. El producto retenido de nanofiltracion tiene una concentracion superior de sacarosa y una concentracion inferior de azucares invertidos que el jarabe de alimentacion. La sacarosa puede entonces ser cristalizada a partir del producto retenido de nanofiltracion. La reduccion del contenido de producto invertido en el jarabe facilita la cristalizacion y de esta forma incrementa la recuperacion de la sacarosa.
