Abstract

Se presenta un adaptador de flujo dinamico para utilizarse en la medicion de la velocidad a la que fluye aire al interior de la tuberia de frenado de una locomotora. El adaptador de flujo incluye un alojamiento, una valvula de flujo dinamico y un transductor diferencial. El alojamiento define un pasaje de entrada, una camara de entrada, un pasaje primario, un pasaje complementario, una camara de salida, un pasaje secundario y un pasaje de salida. El pasaje primario contiene un orificio primario que tiene un primer diametro. El pasaje secundario contiene un orificio secundario que tiene un segundo diametro. El pasaje de entrada se comunica con la camara de entrada y las camaras de entrada y de salida se comunican a traves del orificio primario. La camara de salida se comunica con el pasaje de salida a traves del orificio secundario. El pasaje complementario esta en paralelo con el pasaje primario y cuando esta abierto, permite comunicacion adicional entre las camaras de entrada y de salida. La valvula de flujo dinamico esta colocada dentro del pasaje complementario. Cuando la velocidad a la cual fluye el aire desde el pasaje de entrada hacia la camara de entrada es menor o igual a una cantidad predeterminada, la valvula de flujo dinamico cierra el pasaje complementario. Cuando la velocidad de flujo hacia la camara de entrada es mayor a la cantidad predeterminada, la valvula de flujo dinamico abre el pasaje complementario en un grado determinado, hasta una posicion completamente abierta, por medio de la magnitud de la velocidad de flujo. Esto permite que el aire fluya a traves del pasaje complementario, ademas del aire que fluye a traves del pasaje primario. El transductor genera una senal proporcional a la diferencia de presion entre las camaras de entrada y de salida.
