Abstract

This invention refers to a train derailment detector, which acts by emitting an alarm signal at the moment in which a wheel of any train cart separates from the rail and this is verified by the elements which form this detector. The object of this invention is providing train drivers with a signal whose aim is to avoid mayor misfortunes while going from one place to another.

Description

"DETECTOR OF TRAIN DISCHARGE" BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Within the research that we have done, we only managed to find the "Railway Vehicle Wheel Detector that uses Differential Magnetic Bridge" with application number 9401251, filing date 17/02/1994, publication date 08/31/1994, whose applicant is Union Switch & Signai Inc., its inventor Heinz Glicher and its agent Salvador Huerta B. Av. San Francisco No. 310 Col. Del Valle. Benito juarez delegation. C.P. 03100. D.F., which identifies the presence and direction of a rail vehicle. The wheel detector includes a primary winding, a secondary winding and signal processing circuitry. The primary winding is excited by an alternating current power source to produce a magnetic flux in the wheel of the rail vehicle. The secondary winding detects a change in the voltage induced by the magnetic flux of the railway wheel. The secondary winding includes two coils in a differential bridge that prevent external factors from intervening with the detection of the wheel. The signal processing device transforms the voltage change into a signal that identifies the presence and direction of the rail vehicle.
In order to prevent major mishaps in a train such as rollovers or damage to the tracks, the development of the train was envisaged. present "Train Derailment Detector" that works efficiently and can help the person in charge of driving the train, whether person or computer machine, to identify the moment in which any wheel of any car separates from the tracks on which It must roll.
The object of the present invention is to provide a train derailment detection system which differs from the known ancestors in that it generates an alarm signal indicating that one or more of the wheels have been separated from the track.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION As soon as one of the wheels of the train is separated from the track, a signal is generated that is transmitted to the train machine and when it is received activates an alarm so that the train is stopped and does not cause a major accident.
FUNCTIONING The Train Derailment Detector consists of several elements: 1a. DETECTION ELEMENT: In this element, as the name implies, is where you have the first sign that tells us that a wheel has been separated from the track. This element can be done in different ways, such as: 1. Laser and laser detector: a laser diode is focused on a detector, and as soon as the beam is interrupted or reaches the detector, depending on how you want to drive, and generates a signal. 2. Infrared and infrared detector: works similar to laser; The difference lies only in the form of beam emission. 3. Metal detector: it is a sensor that as soon as it does not capture the existence of metal in the direction it was focused generates a signal. 4. Proximity sensor: detects the distance to which the track is located, as soon as this distance is altered it generates a signal. 2a. VERIFICATION ELEMENT: check the authenticity of the signal that is being received. 3a. TRANSMISSION ELEMENT: It is in this element that the signal to the machine is emitted. This element can send the signal in wired or wireless form. Within the wireless forms we can mention: 1. Satellite communication. 2. Microwaves 3. Civil Band. 4. 2-Way Radio. 5. Cellular Communication.
In the case of 2-Way Radios, the transmission can be carried out directly, where the signal goes directly from the transmitter to the receiver or by means of retransmitters, where the signal is retransmitted in each of the wagons until reaching the receiver . 4a. VERIFICATION ELEMENT IN THE RECEIVER: Check the authenticity of the signal that is reaching the receiver. 5a. ALARM ACTIVATING ELEMENT: once the verification of the signal has been made, this element is activated that controls the way in which the alarm element works in the machine. 6a. ELEMENT OF ALARM: it is an element that in an audible and / or visual form captures the attention of the person in charge of driving the train, and in the form of an electrical signal in the case of a train driven by means of a computer, to take the necessary measures and avoid a major mishap.
This product is a novelty from our point of view since, according to what we have investigated, there is no other product that slightly performs these functions.
Example: An example of application is described below, without necessarily being limitative with respect to the elements that are dealt with with reference to the drawings Figure 1 and Figure 2.
The laser "a" emits a beam "b" that is interrupted by the rail "c" on which the wheels turn -fig. 1-, as soon as some of the wheels for some reason are separated from the rail, the beam "b" makes contact with the sensor "d" and activates a signal that is sent to the machine by means of the transmitter "e" and is received by the receiver "f -fig.2 - which is responsible for generating an electrical signal in case the train is driven by a computer and / or an audible and / or visual signal in case it is driven by a person, with in order to stop the train and avoid a major mishap
