Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a un medidor de flujo con derivacion, para medir el flujo del material en un conducto. Se desarrolla una caída de presionoptima a través del medidor de flujo (104) acoplando la salida para el material del medidor de flujo a la garganta de un tubo Venturi (108) colocado dentro del conducto (101). Este incremento en la caída de presion mejora el flujo del material a través del medidor de flujo. Esto mejora la exactitud y la sensibilidad del medidor de flujo, así como la capacidad de éste para medir el flujo másico para materiales de baja densidad, tales como un gas. Se deduce la proporcion del flujo del material dentro del medidor de flujo respecto al del conducto. La informacion acerca del flujo del material para el conducto se obtiene para los materiales que tiene una viscosidad variable, mediante el uso de un detector de presion diferencial (134) que mide la caída de presion a través del medidor de flujo y transmite esta informacion a los instrumentos que usa para deducir la informacion acerca del flujo del material por el conducto con una precision mejorada. Una modalidad alternativa que no tiene un tubo Venturi funciona de la misma manera para deducir la proporcion de flujo del material entre el medidor de flujo y el conducto y, a su vez, el flujo total del material en el conducto.
