Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a un método en el que una hoja de fibras celulosicas se desmenuza en pelusas, en donde, antes del desmenuzado, las fibras son tratadas, en presencia de agua, con una sustancia hidrofobica que tiene un área de superficie específica de por lo menos aproximadamente 50 m²/g, para producir mejor capacidad de absorcion; pelusa obtenible por el método, los artículos absorbentes que contiene esta pelusa; el uso de una sustancia de esta clase para mejorar la capacidad de absorcion del material absorbente que contiene las fibras, un proceso para la produccion de material absorbente obtenido por desmenuzado de una hoja de esta fibras en la cual las fibras, antes del desmenuzado, ha sido tratadas, en presencia de agua, con una sustancia de esta clase para producir mejor capacidad de absorcion; y el material absorbente obtenible a partir del proceso.
