Abstract

Se describe un método para inhibir la expresion de gen en un tejido de planta objetivo, el cual comprende el transformar establemente una célula de planta de un tipo a partir del cual una planta completa puede ser regenerada con una construccion de gen que lleva un promotor específico en el tejido células del tejido de planta objetivo y un gen interruptor que codifica una proteína la cual es capaz, cuando se expresa, de inhibir la respiracion en las células del tejido objetivo dando como resultado la muerte de las células, el gen interruptor se selecciona del grupo que consiste del gen T-urf13, genes que codifican una alfa- o beta-tubulina, co-supresion de sentido corto de dos genes de ciclo de célula de maíz esenciales, cdc25 y activador de origen de replicacion (ROA) y una construccion de sentido corto al translocalizador de nucleotido de adenina (ANT) de la membrana mitocondrial interna.
