Abstract

La invencion se refiere a materiales orgánicos transparentes que presentan un índice de refraccion de más de 1.55, que carecen de distorsiones opticas y se preparan mediante polimerizacion por radicales de una composicion polimerizable que comprende a 00-95% en peso de por lo menos un monomero representado por la formula general I: (Ver Formula) en donde R = H o CH3 y m y n son independientemente 1 o 2; 5-20% en peso de por lo menos un monomero monovinílico aromático representado por la formula general II: (Ver Formula) en donde R1 = H o CH3; una cantidad efectiva de por lo menos un colorante que imparte propiedades fotocromicas el material, seleccionado de grupo de espiroxazinas, espiropiranos y cromenos; una cantidad efectiva de un agente de transferencia de cadena; y una cantidad efectiva de un iniciador de cromenos; una cantidad efectiva de un agente de transferencia de cadena; y una cantidad efectiva de un iniciador de polimerizacion por radicales, caracterizado porque el agente de transferencia de cadena es un alcanotiol lineal y el iniciador de polimerizacion por radicales es un compuesto diazo.
