Abstract
Las películas opticas birrefringentes (10, 12, 14) tienen un ángulo de Brewster (el ángulo al cual la reflectancia de la luz p polarizada se vuelve cero) el cual es muy grande o no existe. El permite la construccion espejos de capas multiples y polarizadores cuya reflectividad para la luz p polarizada disminiye lentamente con el ángulo de incidencia, es independiente del ángulo de incidencia, o se incrementa con el ángulo de incidencia lejos de la normal. Como resultado pude lograrse películas de capas multiples (10) que tienen alta reflectividad (para ambos planos de polarizacion para cualquier direccion de incidencia en el caso de los espejos, sobre un ancho de banda amplio.
