Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a partículas finamente divididas de compuestos que proveen propiedades de retardo de llama y/o de supresion de humo par fibras, textiles, artículos poliméricos, papel, pintura, recubrimientos y aislamientos. Más particularmente, la presente invencion se refiere a partículas de tamaño coloidal de sales hidratadas, fosfatos orgánicos, boratos metálicos, poliamidas, solidos retardantes de llama halogenados con puntos de fusion superiores a 250 grados centigrados, compuestos de molibdeno, metalocenos, compuesto de antimonio, compuestod de zinc, compuestos de bismuto y otros productos químicos solidos que actuan como retardadores de llama o supresores de humo. La presente invencion se refiere también a varios procedimientos de molienda para reducir estos materiales a tamaños coloidales y para dispersarlos en agua, en líquidos orgánicos y en solidos fusionables.
