Abstract

La presente invencion se refiere a un proceso para la produccion de los isomeros (R) y (S)-alfa-metil-3-(triflurometil)bencenetamina, de los cuales el segundo se puede usar como un compuesto intermedio en la síntesis del fármaco anoréxico dexfenfluramina (INN), proceso que comprende llevar a cabo una animacion reductora, estereoespecífica, de la 1-(3-trifluorometil)fenil-2-propanona con (R) o (S)-alfa-metilbencilamina, bajo atmosfera de hidrogeno, en la presencia de un catalizador, y desbencilar el diasteroisomero resultante (R),(R) o (s), (S)-N-(1-feniletil)-alfa-metil-3-(trifluorometil)b enceno-etamina, mediante el tratamiento con hidrogeno y catalizador.
