Abstract

Se provee un método para aislar genes que confieren resistencia al aluminio y se describen dos genes particulares tolerantes al aluminio. Estos genes son designados como ALR1 y ALR2. Los dos genes de tolerancia fueron aislados de cepas de levadura, pero se encontro que tienen homología con genes de bacterias responsables del consumo de iones divalentes. Por lo tanto, se contempla un método para aislar transportadores de cation divalente utilizando complementacion de cepas de mutante de transportador de magnesio de genes de tolerancia al aluminio de levaduras.
