Abstract

La invencion se relaciona a un proceso para fundir sustancias de materiales metálicas en un horno de cuba. Durante el proceso, el coque es quemado con aire recalentado y oxígeno sustancialmente limpio, y los gases de la combustion calientan en contraflujo la carga metálica. La fundicion se sobrecalienta y carburiza en el lecho de coque, se inyecta aire de una porcion fija del oxígeno en el lecho de coque a una velocidad muy alta y tanto como sea posible para mejorar el paso de gas a través del lecho de coque, y se inyecta aire de una segunda cantidad variable de oxígeno en el conducto circular del aire.
