Abstract

Esta invencion proporciona un proceso para producir pigmento de dioxido de titanio, en donde una suspension acuosa de partículas de TiO2 tratadas superficialmente con oxido hidratado de someten a un medio de molienda. Las partículas de TiO2 se tratan superficialmente con un recubrimiento que contiene un oxido hidratado tal como sílice y/o alumina, y la suspension de filtra antes de moler. La suspension molida se seca y el producto seco se muele con energía hidráulica para producir pigmento de TiO2 que tiene buena distribucion de tamaño de partícula. Los pigmentos de TiO2 podría ser usados para hacer formulaciones de recubrimiento que tienen alto brillo.
