Abstract
Una composicion, adecuada para la mezcla con granos refractarios, para obtener una formulacion monolítica refractaria, que consiste esencialmente de: 2 a 10 partes en peso de alumina activada; 0.25 a 1.0 partes en peso de un material aditivo, el cual comprende cuando menos uno de un compuesto de aluminio-silicato-fosfato; una resina derivada de un aldehído y cualquiera de una amina o un compuesto hidroxi aromático; celulosa; polietilen-glicol(es); y metoxi-polietilen-glicoles; y, opcionalmente, hasta 50 partes en peso de alumina fina, hasta 10 partes en peso de sílice fina y hasta 1 parte en peso de un dispersante; no mas de 1 parte en peso (y preferiblemente nada) de cemento de aluminato de calcio. La formulacion comprende la composicion anterior con hasta el 97.5 por ciento en peso de granos refractarios inertes. Durante su empleo, mostro buena resistencia en crudo, aun cuando sea moldeada debajo de la temperatura ambiente, facilitando así el manejo, y después de la coccion mostro buenas propiedades a alta temperatura (tal como el modulo de ruptura en caliente) y una buena resistencia al triturado en frío.
