Abstract

La invencion se refiere a un vidrio de silicato de boro que tiene una expansion térmica lineal de entre 20 degree C y 300 degree C de 3.9 a 4.5 x 10 a la -6 K a la -1, para fabricar vidrio de laboratorio, vidrio doméstico, vidrio plano, y otro vidrio industrial especial, el cual puede ser fundido y acondicionado eléctricamente bajo condiciones de parte superior en frio. Con el fin de fijar la composicion de vidrio, y adem s de lograr las propiedades deseadas del vidrio, se deben tener en consideracion los efectos específicos del procedimiento de fusion totalmente eléctrico y de esta forma consecuentemente existe una variacion limitada con respecto a m s de un oxido de vidrio, la exclusion de algunos materiales de partida, la eleccion de agentes de refinacion adecuados, etc. El vidrio tiene la composicion de : SiO2 + ZrO2 77.0 a 81.0 % en peso B2O3 + Na2O + K2O + CaO + MgO + BaO 16.0 a 18.5 % en peso de la cual Na2O + K2O + CaO + MgO + Bao 5.4 a 7.0 % en peso de la cual CaO + MgO + BaO a 0.9 % en peso Al2O3 3.7 a 4.9 % en peso Cl 0.05 a 0.4 % en peso con las relaciones: Relacion CaO + MgO + BaO 0.0 a 1.5 ZrO2 Relacion Na2O + K20 + CaO + MgO + BaO 0.060 a 0.075 B2O3 + SiO2 + Al2O3 + ZrO2 Solo se utiliza NaCl o KCl como agente de refinacion. Existe un cambio reversible de este vidrio y el vidrio de silicato de boro 3.3, que se repite tan frecuentemente como sea requerido, y en un corto tiempo.
