Abstract

Un cuerpo de carbon activado y método para fabricar un cuerpo que lo envuelve proveyendo un substrato inorgánico, un precursor de carbon polimérico sintético y un aditivo mejorador de absorcion que puede ser azufre y/o aceite que sea no miscible y no reactivo con el precursor de carbon, contactando a la capa inorgánica con el precursor de carbon y al aditivo mejorador de absorcion para revestir al substrato con esto, curando y carbonizando al precursor de carbon, y activando al carbon para producir un revestimiento de carbon activado sobre el substrato y formar al cuerpo de carbon activado. Otro método incluye el formar una mezcla del precursor de carbon, el aditivo mejorador de absorcion, el cual puede ser azufre, ácido fosforico, y/o el aceite, el vinculador orgánico temporal, el auxiliar formador opcional y llenadores, dando forma de un cuerpo a la mezcla, seguido conformado de carbon activado para la absorcion de uno o más componentes por el carbon activado.
