Abstract

Se prepararon espumas de poliuretano sopladas con agua en su totalidad, de muy baja densidad, muy suaves, mediante la reaccion de un prepolímero terminado con isocianato con un exceso estequiométrico de agua desde 30% hasta 150%. Las espumas tienen densidades de moldeo menores o iguales a 1.5 libras/pies3 y suavidad, segun se mide por ILD al 25%, menor o igual a 15 libras, conservando aun una excelente elasticidad, resistencia al desgarramiento o elongacion. Las espumas son adecuadas para utilizarse en aplicaciones de amortiguamiento tales como aquellas que tradicionalmente emplean material sintético de relleno de poliéster.
