Abstract

Se describe un aparato para formar lentes de contacto, en donde mitades de molde curvas frontales se llenan con un material transparente endurecible, tal como hidrogel polimerizable, y las mitades de molde curvas posteriores se acoplan a la curva frontal, formando ahí un lente; más particularmente, el aparato incluye medios de transporte paletas de mitades de molde hacia el aparato, una disposicion de estructuras de piston para subir y alinear las curvas posteriores con respecto a las mitades curvas frontales llenas, medios de movimiento recíproco para mover recíprocamente la disposicion de piston para acoplar pares de curvas frontales y posteriores, y una cámara de vacío y medios para forzar vacío para mantener un vacío alrededor de las curvas durante el acoplamiento; además se provee un resorte individual para impulsar cada elemento de movimiento recíproco, por lo que se puede reducir al mínimo la sensibilidad a las variaciones de espesor y a las fallas en la alimentacion de la paleta; además, se provee un manguito de vacío, a través del cual los pistones se mueven recíprocamente dentro de la cámara de vacío, y dicho manguito preserva el vacío dentro de la cámara.
