Abstract

Un mecanismo para ajustar la altura de un respaldo respecto a un asiento en un montaje de asiento que tiene un miembro de soporte que interconecta el asiento y el respaldo. Se forma un rebajo en una posicion vertical del miembro de soporte y una cremallera dentada se sujeta dentro del rebajo. La porcion vertical del miembro de soporte es acoplable deslizablemente con una unidad tipo caja sujeta al respaldo y un miembro de acoplamiento se monta en la unidad tipo caja y dispone dentro del rebajo formado en la posicion vertical del miembro de soporte. El miembro de acoplamiento incluye una estructura de acoplamiento acoplable selectivamente con ciertos de los dientes de la cremallera, para fijar la posicion del respaldo respecto al miembro de soporte. Un elemento de derivacion desplaza el miembro de acoplamiento a una posicion de acoplamiento en donde la estructura de acoplamiento se acopla con ciertos de uno o más dientes. El elemento de derivacion también funciona para retener el miembro de acoplamiento en una posicion desprendida cuando el respaldo se sube totalmente, para permitir que el respaldo se baje sin acoplamiento de la estructura de acoplamiento con los dientes de la cremallera. La estructura de liberacion es acoplable con el miembro de acoplamiento cuando el respaldo se abate completamente a fin de desprender el miembro de acoplamiento del elemento de derivacion en preparacion para colocacion subsecuente del respaldo al elevar el respaldo respecto al asiento.
