Abstract

Un proceso para la producción de un anhídrido de ácido carboxílico comprende poner en contacto una composición de reacción que incluye un reactante de éster de ácido carboxílico, haluro de hidrocarbilo y/o hidrocarbiléter y un promotor de haluro de hidrocarbilo, con monóxido de carbono, en presencia de un catalizador que comprende un soporte polimérico insoluble que tiene grupos pendientes piridina en la forma N-base cuaternizada o en la forma N-óxido alquilada y que soporta a una especie de rodio, en cuyo proceso la especie de rodio no puede lixiviarse del soporte polimérico al mantener durante todo el proceso una concentración finita de anhídrido de ácido carbolíxico en la composición de reacción.
