Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método que se ha descubierto, para repeler a las hormigas, mediante el tratamiento de los objetos o áreas, con cantidades efectivas de composiciones que incluyen (a) uno o más ácidos carboxílicos de 6 a 8 átomos de carbono; (b) uno o más alcoholes de 6 a 14 átomos de carbono; (c) uno o más ésteres que son productos de reacción de (a) y (b) o un éster que es un producto de reacción de los repelentes y otros ácidos carboxílicos o alcoholes; (d) uno o más ésteres de ácidos carboxílicos de 6 a 11 átomos de carbono; (e) uno o más cetonas de 6 a 14 átomos de carbono; o (f) mezclas de los mismos.
