Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con el uso de nuevos líquidos iónicos (LIs) base metilcarbonato o carboxilatos, derivados de ácidos carboxílicos alifáticos o aromáticos, en la remoción de compuestos orgánicos de nitrógeno o nitrogenados: alifáticos y aromáticos, contaminantes de mezclas de hidrocarburos (HCs); mediante un proceso de extracción selectivo líquido-líquido (Ll-HCs), a temperatura ambiente y presión atmosférica, donde los LIs son inmiscibles con los HCs, debido a la mayor afinidad de los compuestos orgánicos nitrogenados por el medio de LI respecto al medio de HCs en el que se encuentran presentes. Dicho proceso se realiza a través de una extracción con agitación de las dos fases, seguida de una etapa de separación, o en un sistema de flujo continuo donde los compuestos nitrogenados pasan a la fase conformada por el LI y como resultado el contenido total de nitrógeno es considerablemente reducido en la fase de HCs. Los nuevos LIs empleados en la presente invención, para la desnitrogenación de mezclas de HCs, tienen la fórmula general C+ A-, donde: C+ es un catión orgánico heterocíclico, o de base amonio cuaternario; y A- es un anión base metilcarbonato o carboxilatos, derivados de ácidos carboxílicos alifáticos o aromáticos. Las principales ventajas competitivas de la novedosa tecnología de extracción de la presente invención son: • Una alta eficiencia en la eliminación de compuestos nitrogenados, contaminantes de mezclas de HCs, • Condiciones de operación del proceso sumamente suaves y benignas para el medio ambiente, y • Reducción de costos de manera considerable.
