Abstract
Un sistema auxiliar para la refrigeración de una piscina de combustible nuclear gastado a través de un intercambiador de calor sumergible que debe colocarse dentro de la piscina. En cada tren o instalación, se hace circular un único bucle o una serie de bucles de fluido de refrigeración (por ejemplo, agua de mar o agua de servicio). El sistema es modular, rápida y fácilmente instalado durante una emergencia y puede ser de funcionamiento automático con su propia fuente de alimentación. Se pueden usar múltiples trenes en paralelo para satisfacer el grado requerido de la refrigeración requerida de la piscina de combustible gastado.
