Abstract
Se proporciona un cabezal que soporta la carga del extremo frontal del un vehículo con un mejor desempeño estructural y un menor peso de los componentes, mientras que también mininiza los costos de materiales, herramientas y producción. El ensamble del extremo frontal se forma con un tubo de refuerzo que atraviesa el automóvil hidroformado fijado o unido con sujetadores mecánicos y adhesivo a la temperatura ambiente a un cabezal, mejorando así la distribución de las fuerzas y aumentando la rigidez del sistema transversal de automóvil. El ensamble tubo/cabezal hidroformado unido proporciona una mayor resistencia a la torsión y estabilidad dimensional al chasis del vehículo. El tubo de refuerzo hidroformado que atraviesa al automóvil tiene extremos terminales aplanados con aberturas para una unión integrada a un cabezal. El tubo de refuerzo hidroformado que atraviesa al automóvil es formado de aluminio, latón, carbono, acero, acero inoxidable, cobre y aleaciones de alta resistencia. El cabezal está formado de plásticos y compuestos de alta resistencia incluyendo compuestos de moldeo laminados (SMC) compuestos de moldeo a granel (BMC), y compuestos termoplásticos tales como termoplásticos de esterillas de vidrio (GMT) y termoplásticos de fibra larga directos (DLFT).
