Abstract

Se describen un sistema y métodos para dirigir el condensado recogido en un reservorio de intercambiador de calor ya sea a un sistema de admisión de aire o a una posición en el escape del motor en función del tipo de contaminante en el condensado y los parámetros de funcionamiento del motor o el catalizador. En un ejemplo particular, el condensado se dirige a una primera posición a lo largo del sistema de admisión de aire del motor en un primer modo de funcionamiento y a una segunda posición corriente arriba del catalizador a lo largo del escape del motor en un segundo modo de funcionamiento y a una tercera posición corriente abajo del catalizador a lo largo del escape del motor en un tercer modo de funcionamiento. Cuando sustancialmente no se detectan contaminantes, el condensado puede dirigirse al escape del motor corriente arriba del catalizador a fin de enfriar al catalizador.
