Abstract
Un método para recuperar celulosa parcialmente hidrolizada purificada (36) de una composición (14) que comprende celulosa parcialmente hidrolizada y un ácido, como ácido sulfúrico. Una base (28) que tiene un catión que forma un precipitado con el anión del ácido se añade a la composición. Por ejemplo, una base como hidróxido de bario se añade para formar un precipitado de sulfato. El precipitado (38) a continuación se separa de la celulosa parcialmente hidrolizada (36), reduciendo así su contenido de ácido.
