Abstract

Se describen técnicas de recuperación mejorada de petróleo que incluyen la introducción de siliciuros de metal alcalino a depósitos subterráneos para generar gas hidrógeno, calor, y soluciones de silicato de metal alcalino in situ después de hacer contacto con agua. Los siliciuros de metal alcalino, tales como siliciuro de sodio, se utilizan para la recuperación de hidrocarburos, incluyendo crudos más pesados, en donde la viscosidad y la baja presión del depósito son factores limitantes. Se genera, in situ, hidrógeno, el cual es miscible con el petróleo crudo y puede beneficiar las fracciones pesadas en las fracciones ligeras naturalmente o con la adición de materiales catalíticos. También se genera calor en el sitio de reacción para reducir la viscosidad y promover el beneficio del petróleo. La solución de silicato alcalino resultante saponifica los componentes crudos ácidos para formar agentes surfactantes, los cuales emulsifican el crudo para mejorar la movilidad hacia el pozo de producción. El silicato promueve la modificación de perfil pasivamente a través de reacciones consumidoras o activamente a través de la adición de agentes gelificantes ácidos.
