Abstract
Se proporciona un sistema para usarse con un paciente en un ambiente de cuidados médicos, el sistema comprende: un dispositivo médico configurado para monitorear o tratar a un paciente, el dispositivo médico es para usarse en un cuarto en el cual se localiza el paciente y comprende una unidad de alarma configurada para emitir una alarma audible; una unidad de detección configurada para detectar si un miembro del personal de cuidados médicos se encuentra en el cuarto en el cual se localiza el paciente; una unidad de alarma remota configurada para emitir una alarma para alertar a un miembro del personal de cuidados médicos que se encuentra fuera del cuarto en el cual se localiza el paciente; y una unidad de control que se conecta al dispositivo médico, a la unidad de detección remota y a la unidad de alarma remota, la unidad de control está configurada para: (i) controlar la unidad de alarma en el dispositivo médico para que emita una alarma audible en caso de que el dispositivo médico detecte una condición de alarma para el paciente o el dispositivo médico y la unidad de detección detecte que un miembro del personal de cuidados médicos se encuentra en el cuarto en el que se localiza el paciente; y (ii) controlar la unidad de alarma remota para que emita una alarma para alertar a un miembro del personal de cuidados médicos que se encuentre fuera del cuarto en el cual se localiza el paciente en caso de que el dispositivo médico detecte una condición de alarma para el paciente o el dispositivo médico y la unidad de detección detecte que ningún miembro del personal de cuidados médicos se encuentra en el cuarto en el que se localiza el paciente.
