Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una máquina de pulir para quitar el caucho de la cubierta de un neumático para producir una circunferencia predeterminada objetivo en la cubierta, la máquina de pulir adaptada para montar de manera giratoria la cubierta del neumático en un reborde, el reborde asociado con un motor de reborde dispuesto para girar el reborde alrededor de un eje central, la máquina de pulir comprende: un dispositivo de corte incluyendo un motor eléctrico y dispuesto en un brazo móvil tal que el dispositivo de corte se adapta para acoplar selectivamente la cubierta del neumático a diversas profundidades de corte iterativo; un sensor de posición asociado con el brazo móvil y dispuesto para proporcionar una señal de posición indicativa de la posición del dispositivo de corte en una dirección radial desde el eje central alrededor del cual la cubierta del neumático es giratoria, estando la máquina de pulir configurada para usar la señal de posición para proporcionar una señal de circunferencia estando también dispuesta para proporcionar una señal de circunferencia indicativa de una distancia radial entre el eje central y una superficie exterior de la cubierta del neumático; y, un controlador electrónico conectado al sensor de posición y el dispositivo de corte, el controlador electrónico estando programado para: recibir y procesar la señal de posición y la señal de circunferencia, mover el dispositivo de corte en contacto con la cubierta del neumático a una profundidad de corte respectiva para cada uno de los diversos cortes iterativos mientras recibe una señal eléctrica correspondiente a una cantidad de trabajo eléctrico que ha sido realizado por el dispositivo de corte a través de cada uno de los cortes iterativos, estimar una cantidad de material removido de la cubierta del neumático a través de los cortes iterativos con base en la cantidad de trabajo eléctrico, entre cada corte iterativo, usar la señal eléctrica correspondiente a la cantidad de trabajo realizado por el dispositivo de corte durante el corte anterior para estimar una cantidad de material almacenado por el corte anterior, el material almacenado resultando de una diferencia entre una cantidad total de material hecho disponible para remoción moviéndolo a una profundidad de corte del corte anterior y una cantidad de material realmente removido por el corte anterior, determinar una dimensión exterior objetivo de la cubierta del neumático después del pulimento, tal dimensión exterior objetivo indicativa de una distancia deseada desde el eje central hasta la superficie exterior de la cubierta del neumático, determinar un desplazamiento, con base en la cantidad de material removido a través de los cortes iterativos, para un corte final hecho en la cubierta del neumático a ser recauchutado, siendo tal desplazamiento indicativo de una cantidad de caucho que no se removió por cortes iterativos previos debido a la recuperación elástica de un material de caucho de la cubierta del neumático después de que el dispositivo de corte ha pasado sobre el material de caucho; y realizar el corte final en la cubierta del neumático donde se aplica el desplazamiento para ajustar una posición radial del corte final para que esté más cerca del eje central que la dimensión exterior objetivo, tal desplazamiento dando una dimensión exterior lograda de la cubierta del neumático que sustancialmente corresponde a la dimensión exterior objetivo.
