Abstract
Un método para determinar un volumen de una red de fracturas incluye detectar señales sísmicas desplegadas sobre un área del subsuelo durante el bombeo de fluido de fractura hacia por lo menos un pozo perforado a través del área; se determina un hipocentro de cada fractura inducida por el bombeo usando las señales sísmicas; se determina una red de fracturas y el volumen de fractura asociado usando los hipocentros determinados y los momentos sísmicos determinados a partir de las señales sísmicas detectadas; un valor máximo de un factor de escala es determinado con base en un subconjunto de hipocentros que tienen momentos sísmicos acumulativos más altos; el factor de escala se determina relacionando un volumen bombeado del fluido de fractura con respecto al volumen de fractura determinado; las dimensiones de cada fractura son escaladas utilizando el valor máximo del factor de escala; los volúmenes de fractura se calculan usando las dimensiones escaladas.
