Abstract
Un sistema de elevadores para transportar una suspensión desde el lecho marino a la superficie marina; el sistema de elevadores comprende un primer y un segundo elevadores, un sistema de bombas de suspensión (17) para transportar una suspensión hacia arriba en uno de los elevadores, y un sistema de bombas de agua de desecho (107) para regresar el agua de desecho hacia abajo en uno de los elevadores; el sistema de bombas de suspensión y el sistema de bombas de agua de desecho son selectivamente conectables a cada uno de los elevadores para permitir que cada elevador sea un elevador de suspensión (1) o un elevador de agua de desecho (2); con esta disposición, si un elevador de suspensión desarrolla una fuga parcialmente a lo largo de su longitud, el elevador de agua de desecho se puede convertir en un elevador de suspensión, de modo que la operación puede continuar.
