Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a procedimiento para preparar 2-alquilfuran-3-tiol, que comprende hacer reaccionar un compuesto furano de la fórmula: (ver figura); en donde R es alquilo y R1 es -C-O, -C-OH, halógeno, o -CN con oleum a aproximadamente temperatura ambiente o superior para obtener el correspondiente derivado 3-sulfofurano, remover el 5-substituyente mediante descarboxilación a temperaturas elevadas para obtener el 2-alquil-3-sulfofurano, hacer reaccionar el sulfofurano con cloruro de tionilo para formar el 2-aquil-3-(clorosulfo) furano, y reducir el (clorosulfo)furano para obtener un 2-alquilfuran-3-tiol.
